Even though the terms pagan and paganism have shifted in meaning to the general public over the years, even though there has never truly been a consensus accepted definition of these terms, we do know that there are many traditional pagan symbols that resonate throughout all forms of paganism, from ancient polytheism to modern neopaganism. The most well known of the pagan symbols is the pentagram. Unfortunately it is also the most misunderstood. It is the symbol people who are against pagan concepts use to distort paganism into glorified Devil Worship. The horror movies do not help matters. Seeing as how pagan concepts predate all forms of Catholicism and Christianity this view is patently false.

That is not to say this symbol is not used in Black Mass and other forms of Satanism. It is. But it is turned upside down and for those people symbolizes something entirely different than the pagans they stole it from!

I have been working with my own personal angel, guides and runners for as long as I can remember. I was born with a wonderful gift, as alot of us are, but was fortunate enough to have my gift developed and enhanced throughout my lifetime to where I am today.

All of these different types of spirit forms can come in and out of our lives at any given time. We are all born with at least two different birth guides. Some are born with even a few more depending on their spiritual and life path that is chosen. These birth guides are yours, and yours alone. They work only with you and the spiritual realm to help you on your physical pathway through life as well as keep open lines of communication between you and the spirit realm. Each birth guide has its own job in your life.

You may have one that is more of a protector role. You may have one that is more of nurturing role. Each and every one is different, just as we are.

Guardian angels are here to watch over and protect us on our physical existence in this Earthly plane. They are the ones who step in just at the right time when accidents happen or things come out just by the skin of our teeth and we sit back and wonder how, it is because of our guardian angels.

Spirit runners, or runner guides as some others refer to them, are like temporary guides who come into our life for a specific reason. Maybe we need some extra energy protection in our life at a certain point, or maybe some extra guidance or help in a love area. These are the spirit runners who come and usher in their expertise of this area when it is needed most. As soon as this area of our life has been resolved and completed they leave as quickly as they came in. Runners can also be with more then one person at one times, just as angels can be.

So how do we get in contact with them? Great question! Start with meditation, as quieting the mind is a wonderful way to start opening yourself up to them.

Look for signs as well. Literally ask a question that you are wanting the answer to, whether it be out-loud or in your mind, and wait and watch for signs to show you the way!

Opening yourself up energetically is another great way for ascension purposes that you can make stronger communication links between you and your guides, angels and runners.

So take a step back and see what signs are being shown and ask for help and make as much with your communication with them as you can, as they are here to help us!

Do you want to unify all polarities to usher the proclaimed glorious era, or polarize even more? For this is the only question to be asked.

Please, I beg of you, watch carefully what you invite in your heart.

If you invite within and resonate only with what unites us as one family and therefore exalts life, then the peace of the ONE, wondrous Creation, and life, longer that you can ever imagine, will be yours.

However, if you invite and resonate within upon visions of death, fear, and all that differentiates, divides, and separates us, then war, suffering, insecurity, and death will be yours.

All great spiritual masters came to tell us of this choice and the two ways of seeing the same reality, and some even expressed it in their lives and experiences on purpose, in order for us to understand the consequences.

A glass is either half full or half empty depending on your focus of attention. Both are true at the same time. It is your focus which will determine which path you will experience. You can either focus on what is lacking, or what is wondrous. You can focus on the unity and common thread of all existence, see the spectacular awe-some reality of creation, and experience the miraculous, or focus on what is lacking and then experience nothingness.

Please do not fall into the trap of joy and ecstasy for death again.

Yes that does sound a bit strange, I mean why would anyone purposefully stop themselves from receiving something they desired? Have a little think on this scenario:

A young child is asking for directions from a policeman:

"Excuse me officer, would you mind giving me directions to xyz building?, please, would you mind, can you, can you, please, please could you, where is it, please..."

What is happening here is that there is no shortage of asking but unless the child keeps quiet and allows the officer to respond then they are not going to get an answer, ever! Then they may very well get disheartened turn around, walk away and of course miss the answer that the officer was willing to give at any time!

So, you may well be asking for your desires but are you allowing the universe to communicate back with you and giving it a chance to respond to you. It may come in very subtle ways, a line in a poem, a comment from a friend, an idea in a book but if you are not willing and ready to listen then you won't get any answer. For now don't try too hard, simply be happy that you have put your desires out there.

The main difference of Circle Wicca from European style Wicca is that it has absorbed Shamanism and the Native American ways of healing and celebrations. Daedalus also had a few problems. One of his character flaws was jealously. Daedalus was so jealous of his pre-teen nephew, who exhibited craftsman's skills on his level, that he murdered the boy.

Thus, with the sin of jealousy, a great and gifted craftsman succumbed to fleeing for his life. Daedalus took to the road and found himself in the city of Crete and the ruler, King Minos. Daedalus found favor and protection with the king and started his trade all over. But the god Poseidon wanted Daedalus' employer to perform a sacrifice. King Minos disrespected the god and ignored Poseidon's order. Daedalus was not the direct target of Poseidon's revenge, but, nevertheless, was drawn into the drama.

Daedalus compromised his value of loyalty to King Minos when he fell into an arrangement of helping the king's wife, whom Poseidon put a spell upon. Daedalus, without compromising his favor with the king or bringing the wrath of Poseidon upon him, worked at this problem. When Daedalus' scheme worked, he pushed his luck with King Minos one too many times. The end result, King Minos found out of Daedalus' betrayals and Daedalus, once again, fled. Daedalus found favor with the king of Sicily. King Minos hunted Daedalus, but in the end, it was Daedalus who lived a satisfied and rich life.

Orestes was trapped in a precarious situation. On the one hand if Orestes disobeyed Apollo he could be made to go mad by the god. But if Orestes killed his mother, he would be haunted by the witch-like furies. Orestes weighed his options and chose not to go against Apollo.

Orestes fulfilled his deed. With his mother dead at his own hands, the furies wrath descended. But luck as well as justice was on Orestes side. Orestes fell into despair and sought the help of the goddess Athene, who is the goddess of justice. Athene weighed Orestes predicament and felt pity for him. After all, the curse was not any of Orestes doing as it was handed down through generations. Through Athene's divine justice, everything was made right and Orestes was free.

To often, when we are faced with life' s challenges, we will "shut down" emotionally, and choose to either ignore or avoid the problem.

Maybe you had an Apollo in your life who forced you to take action and take your life back. I know after many of these stagnant periods in my life, I can look back and thank the Universe for the opportunity given to me by "pushy" people, so I would take action instead of wallow in my depression. After the dilemma was over, I was a stronger person. I was free of the fear to not act on my behalf.

Purchased nearly eighteen years ago, and even after all these years of use, the cards are still in great shape. The book's condition, however, is another story. Its pages, long ago unhooked from the spine, are underlined, dog-eared, highlighted (in three different colors!), and yellowed

Desperate times called for desperate searching, and over my lifetime, I've ran into quite a few bumps in the road. I self-taught myself the tarot so when I laid out a spread seeking clarification to the challenge I faced at the time, I studied the book.

I related to the Greek myths. There was a compelling story with every card suit that I could relate about my hardships. (As you probably guessed, I received A LOT of sword and pentacle cards!)

The suit of swords is represented by Orestes and the House of Artreus. Orestes is a young man trapped in the middle of a family curse, a selfish and arrogant father, and a revengeful mother. Throw in a ticked off goddess and a Greek god who made it Orestes job to avenge the murder of Orestes' father, and you have one sad, confused, threatened kid. Orestes agonized over his fate and decided to do what most of us who've been through the emotional wringer do, and that was to do nothing. But, as in real life, those of us going through a similar stalemate, are sometimes kick-started into action by an outside source.

For some people the attraction to the tarot lies in the seductive allure of divining the future. For others it is less complex simply the collecting of beautifully crafted tarot decks. Perhaps most widespread of all is the quest to better understand ourselves. The cards allow a reader a means to self examine that few other avenues offer. By studying a spread of cards and seeing what they may mean, the reader may see an alternative view of his or her life but more importantly they may see an alternative view of themselves. Such self examination is never a bad thing.

In doing a reading one can ask "what is my role in this issue?" or "how can I best resolve xxx?" Such questions are rarely bad questions to ask. The resulting answers give insight which may be far more valuable than mere divination.

By opening the window of our imagination, through the use of images and symbols, we are able to take an alternative view of our present, our past, and also our future. The cards encourage this. It should be no surprise that the psychologist Carl Jung found tarot cards to be a valuable resource. Once we are able to reach into our imagination and unlock some of the subconscious influences we have, the way we perceive our reality can shift radically.

A typical reading may provide such an alternative view. This can happen in much the same way as one might go to a friend and explain a situation, looking for good advice about what to do next. Equally, one can listen to that advice or discard it. Either way, we make our own decisions. We live our own lives. Mantras such as AUM are primordial sounds that emerge from the Void and the endless expanse of that which lies unmanifested. The opening lines of the Gospel of St. John the Beloved resonate with this truth: "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

The interesting thing is that the force of the mantra is cumulative which means that the more the mantra is articulated, the more powerful it becomes cosmically and in your personal sphere of life. Mantras are particularly helpful tools in the early stages of awakening to spiritually empower oneself. As life continues within the concentric energies of mantra, the user will be able to discern subtle variations in power and will be able to duly respond.

The mantra's force is multiplied exponentially if it is uttered with complete focus and concentration upon the task in a meditative fashion. A mantra is a sound vibration. The word "mantra" is an ancient Sanskrit word consisting of two connotations: man (mind) and tra (deliverance). A mantra is essentially a sonic vibration that delivers the mind from its material inclinations and spells of illusion.

Chanting is the process of repeating a mantra.

Chanting mantra does not require any previous qualification, initiation or knowledge to do so. It is actually one of the accessible meditative practices to engage in. Thankfully, it is not necessary to possess a lovely, sonorous singing voice. Therefore, it is not about how good we sound but about the sound vibrations we emanate and the underlying intention we bring to the practice.

Is Scientology a religion or cult? Well I believe it is the worst aspects of both, with strange doctrine and nearly fanatical followers it definitely crosses the lines on both sides.

It seems to be based on the ideals of one man; L. Ron Hubbard. L .Ron Hubbard was an accomplished science fiction writer, adventurer, and explorer; at least that's what is written about him on the back of many of his novels. I am familiar with his writings but not on his adventuring and to my knowledge there is no discernible proof to back up the claims of his publishers.

However, he was a talented writer with a Hugo award and credited with one of the most read and respected science fiction novels of modern times, Battlefield Earth. An epic that I read a few times and thoroughly enjoyed on each occasion. All that aside, I must ask how that qualified him to become a religious founder? Great writer of a wonderful book? Yes. New messiah? I am afraid not. I feel he may have been guilty of believing his own press to the point of becoming totally enamored of himself.

In Battlefield Earth he gave an idea of his belief system during the rebuilding of human society near the end. However, with the novel Dianetics he laid the foundation for Scientology and began to formulate his religion. I don't believe he was the first to do so, nor sadly will he be the last, but the fact he just out of the blue deemed himself able to create an entire religion out of his own mind tells me how much he thought of himself.

We are talking about a guy who wore a cravat in 1984. That's right a cravat, one of those handkerchiefs worn by literary types of old. Sorry but that's just like getting a painting done of yourself in a Napoleon-like pose. He might as well have changed his name to a ridiculous unpronounceable symbol or something ("The writer formerly known as L. Ron Hubbard").

Palindrome is a word, phrase, verse, or sentence that reads the same backward or forward. For example: A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!

Some said that palindrome definition means a segment of double-stranded DNA in which the nucleotide sequence of one strand reads in reverse order to that of the complementary strand.

However, the word palindrome is derived from the Greek palíndromos, meaning running back again (palín = AGAIN + drom–, drameîn = RUN). A palindrome is a word or phrase which reads the same in both directions. Some simple examples are:

RACECAR, DEED, LEVEL, PIP, ROTOR, CIVIC, POP, MADAM, EYE, NUN, RADAR, TOOT,

Palindrome Varieties
There are two other types of palindrome, although neither is particularly common. The first is the word-unit palindrome. Occasionally these are also traditional palindromes, such as in I DID, DID I? but this only happens when each word is itself a traditional palindrome.

Baker's slick journalistic style grates after a while - especially when we are forced to hear about him supping yet another coffee in a cafe as he waits for his next interviewee. If you're joining a dating agency, you want to exploit the skills of mathematicians to find the perfect partner. Earth

In the last century the knowledge of the world has exploded; but before that it was possible for a learned person to know all there is to know. Before science was a science men believed that there were four elements air, earth, water, and fire. Today the symbols used to indicate these four elements are thought to be pagan symbols. Other symbols widely used today that are of pagan origin include the dagger which is a symbol for the male. The cup or chalice represents the feminine. The five pointed star has been used for numerous connotations; for the Wicca the star signifies an integration of the body and spirit to become one.

For centuries people have tried to tie members of Wicca to witchcraft and not is a favorable manner. As a result, the picture of a wicked old crone wearing a pointed hat and riding a broom seen at Halloween is the image often portrayed as the witch. The broom symbol is used in Wicca, but not as a mode of transportation or any other negative connotation; but as a symbol for cleanliness as in sweeping away the bad things to cleanse the body and spirit.

No symbol is exclusive to any one group or people. What means one thing - good or bad - to one group can mean its exact opposite to another group of people. There is no such thing as a pagan symbol. Back in the days when the world was young, various beliefs had absolutely nothing to do with religion and everything to do with superstition. And with the exception of the Jews everyone was a pagan. Each society had their own names for their gods and goddesses - those who they believed ruled various aspects of life.

For those people nothing occurred without the gods having a hand in it. If there was a drought then the god or goddess who ruled the rain must be angry at you for some reason. If you had a baby then the god or goddess of live and fertility was pleased with you. Many animals were sacrificed in the name of the gods.

While the world today is a much more enlightened place there are still groups of people who cling to the old way. Long forgotten are the Druids, Norse gods, and the mythology of Egypt, Greece, and Rome; except for brief studies in a classroom that are soon forgotten.

But in some ways the old way have never left us. People still fear that which they do not understand. The ancient ways of the Wicca who worship the goddess of Mother Nature have often been persecuted and are always misunderstood. All too frequently the terms pagan, witch, and Wicca are thought to be interchangeable. This is not so. But the old ways die hard, if at all.

The principle here is focus. You could also try focusing on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight.

One sample routine would be to; while in a meditative state, silently name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part. While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body. Mentally visualize releasing this tension. It works wonders.

In all, meditation is a relatively risk-free practice and its benefits are well worth the effort (or non-effort, remember we’re relaxing).

Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic effects to the body. And there has been a growing consensus in the medical community to further study the effects of such. So in the near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation might become a science itself!
